How To Conceive A Girl

Whether it's your first baby or your tenth, wanting a child of a certain gender is something that most of us have thought about at one time or another. And while it is considered somewhat controversial to try and sway the odds of getting the gender baby of your choice, sometimes it's worth a try.

This article will show you some quick ways on how to conceive a girl baby so that you can give Mother Nature a helping hand and get that little baby girl that you've been dreaming of.

Quick Biology Lesson

It is the guy's sperm that is responsible for which gender your child is going to be. Each sperm contains either an X or Y chromosome. To get a girl child you need to ensure that the X (female) sperm reach the egg and fertlize it before the Y (male) sperm does.

Fortunately we know that the X sperm is big and strong and call last a lot longer than the Y sperm, however it's also slower moving. That means you need to take advantage of this and try and use timing to your advantage.

Ovulation Timing for a baby girl

Obviously for this method to work effectively, you need to know when you ovulate. You can use ovulation predictor strips or saliva monitors to find out, or even chart your temperature using BBT methods.

When you know roughly your usual ovulation day you should aim to have sex a few days before the egg is released. Usually starting up to 5 days before ovulation - right up to 2 days before.

If you do the baby dance too close to your ovulation day then there is more chance of conceiving a boy - so you need to make it early enough so that they Y (male) sperm has already died off and there is plenty of X sperm still around. If the vaginal conditions are right, female sperm can last up to 5 days inside the uterus waiting for the egg.

pH Levels

You can aslo influence conceiving a girl baby by knowing the pH levels of your vagina. The female sperm favour an acidic environment which can be acheived via diet and douching (although many women already have the right pH level and often don't need to change anything else).

 If you have any problems trying to get pregnant then you shouldn't use any gender selection methods as it can reduce your chances of conceiving.
