Promoting ClickBank Affiliate Products on HubPages
91The New Rules of Promoting Clickbank Products on Hubpages
In the last two weeks, Hubpages have changed the rules and we are no longer allowed to add affliate links to places like Clickbank directly into our hubs.
Does that mean that you still can't use them to promote Clickbank products?
Don't delete your hubs just yet as I'll be writing some new strategies on how to get around this (and no I don't mean just using redirects - that's not allowed either). Stay with me and I'll have the details up in the next week or so.
In the meantine you can read the old rules below (even though it's out of date now).
Make Money with ClickBank & HubPages
It is well known that ClickBank is a favorite affiliate network with internet marketers. There products pay out high commissions and it’s very easy to get a ClickBank affiliate account set up and start promoting products.
HubPages are also growing in popularity as a free and very easy way to set up a page online with your favorite topics (and earn some income from them).
Up to now, HubPages income has primarily been focused on Adsense earnings but is it possible to make a good living promoting ClickBank products on HubPages?
Actually it is!
But you need to be aware of a few quirky rules and tricks to ensure your HubPage won’t be marked as spam or worse – removed completely.
So how do you set up a HubPage to promote ClickBank products?
Like all good HubPages your hub needs to provide quality original information for the reader. It cannot be a blatent sales pitch for the product in question. It must offer value.
Let’s take for example this hub.
You’ll notice that I’m not going to try and twist your arm and say buy buy buy, because you didn’t come here to be sold to.
You came here to find information on how to promote ClickBank products on HubPages and so that is why I’m talking about it, and giving you an example by this very hub.
Look at how I’ve set this hub out, first by providing information, and later by promoting a complimentary products to expand your knowledge.
Does this work in all niches?
Of course! Actually it works better in niches that are not the make money online niche because affiliate marketers are very savvy to the tricks to get people to purchase a product whereas someone looking for information on how to get their dog to stop barking isn’t and is more likely to click on your recommendations.
So how do I set up my Hub to make the most money?
First focus on writing a hub that solves a problem and don’t make it a sales pitch. I recommend that you write AT LEAST 500 words of unique content, otherwise you’ll get a crap hubscore.
You are only allowed two links to the same domain (and so only two hoplinks) which means you can place a link for one product twice on the page, or promote two different Clickbank products. I like having one link right at the top of the page in a link capsule, and one at the bottom in a text box.
I also suggest you add extra links on the page, whether they are links to your blog, or by adding a news feed, just so the content and links are varied.
Images are good and increase the user experience, or you may prefer video. Hubs with videos seem to convert much better than simply having a plain text hub.
Next it’s time to do some SEO to increase your traffic.
It’s a good idea to write at least three to five hubs, all on the same topic (but all original content) and link them together with groups. This is the beginning of your internal linking plan which will give each hub a slight boost and advantage.
Next write some articles promoting your hubs to get some backlinks to your HubPages. If you don’t have time to write articles, then you can outsource them, but they really are a great way to increase your rankings.
HubPages generally rank well anyway but it really helps if you can get some backlinks to your hubs because they’ll climb rankings even further.
After that it’s just a matter of working out which ClickBank products to promote and you are on your way to making money with HubPages.

I got the information in one go at hubpages. Actually I was looking out for promoting clickbank products at hubpages and thought that I should do the research before doing it and I searched for CLICKBANK in hubpages search and found this hub. Hi Traceye, is it free to be a clickbank affiliate ?
Thanks a lot for your informative hub.
I've never join clickbank.
I read many blogs and they all say clickbank is very good to make money.
Hey Tracey...

Just a quick question do you do more of your hubs with Video or not? please let me know or post in your next newsletter... Thanks

Tracey,
Very nice job here! I really like your writing style and find it easy and enjoyable to read.
Howdy Tracyeye,
Enjoyed yur article. You mentioned that it "costs" to get your own product onto ClickBank, but you didn't mention that the fee is small and one-time only (per product). Here is what I cut from the ClickBank vendors' page which I visited after reading your reply, above:
" Secure, reliable payment processing
Low start-up costs (one-time $49.95 product activation fee)
Industry-leading fraud prevention
No merchant account required
Accept credit cards and PayPal
ClickBank provides customer support"
That's some pretty good stuff. The "affiliates'" info was equally impressive.
You are much appreciated Traceye!
Hi Tracey, could you provide some insight as to why I'm not getting any clicks to my product from this hub. I am new to this but am getting traffic as I have backlinked it somewhat well. Thank you

All the info that you are sharing here and all the comments are very useful. Now, I'm working on a powerful affiliate marketing (google Sniper method)... and this post will be useful to compare the google sniper method and what you are explaining here.
Very interesting article.
On top of your informative article, I would like to add one thing. It is an advise...
For those who are really interested to promote clickbank products, make sure you understand "affiliate marketing" techniques and strategies. Without knowledge on this, you might have difficulties to get succeed in promoting clickbank products.

Very good article,
I know something of writing articles (EZine, ArticlesBase, etc.) that would drive traffic to your: squidoo lens, landing page, but what kind of article would one write to point to your hub page? I don't want to duplicate the content on the article. What do you write on your articles? Thanks
Ed Cohen
Good advice. I'm using my blogs for Clickbank, and no success yet. I guess I have to write more to create backlinks to the blog
Informative and instructive hub.

I was a little wary to start creating Hubs in order to peddle Clickbank products, as I wasn't certain about the protocol.
You cleared up some major questions regarding this issue. Another great Hub.
Awesome hub lots of informative information for the novice!
Thank you, great hub!
nice hub
How or where do you post the clickbank links on your hub??
Another great hub. Thanks for the info. I'm just starting to give hubpages a try to promote clickbank products. This will really help.
Great info, I have just started getting serious about hub pages and article writing and the great thing about click bank is that is always a subject that can be linked to your hub page. LOVE IT
Great Hub, I just became a member and submitted my first hub and have Adsense and Amazon. I also have a back-link to a click bank product and links that take people to my blog http://benefitsofaloe-vera.blogspot.com/. I did some training for ways to promote affiliate products and it says to put your article on around 20 different similar sights (ezinearticles etc). Do you think that its necessary to do this?
Great article! I have written an ebook on this method because I think with the right information, anyone can sell Clickbank products using Hub Pages.
Superb!
Try combining Hubpages with Facebook and you get a powerful duo! Facebook has 500 million active users and had overtaken Google as the most viewed site. Create Facebook ads targeted to specific users and sales surely sales would be more likely to be generated. Check out this hub post --> http://hubpages.com/hub/facebookpayperclick
Nice post,i'll start to promote my clickbank campaign in hubpage
Thanks for your article Traceye, always useful. Can you take a look at my hub and tell me what you think I am not doing right and likely suggestions? What steps can I take to backlink my site http://titobay.com to my hub and my blog. I have been trying to make money from all these but no luck. Need your advice and support
Very Interesting Hub!
Hi Traceye, I've been researching these past few days about affiliate marketing and have signed up with Clickbank recently. I haven't started anything yet and know very little about this but I just want to clarify something. In your reply to lasbenols 13 months ago, with regards to getting more clicks (and not just traffic) you advised him to "mask your link - right now I see the whole clickbank link with tracking id - people will be very wary to click that.". On the other hand, in Clickbanks's website under Affiliates DO's and DONT'S, they say "Don’t mask or store your HopLink in a frame. For your HopLinks to be properly tracked, they must not be stored in a frame. If your domain is masked, your HopLink will be stored in this manner, and therefore will be unreliable." Can you please enlighten me? Thanks!
Thanks for the info traceye. I'm new to hubpages and wondered about using clickbank.
great article! I wanted to look into this as a way to build quick pages instead of building a new wordpress site everytime. I am focusing on a good keyword wordpress site for amazon product niche but in the mean time wanted to write some hubs to promote a couple clickbank products. Do you think making a network of related interlinked hubpages would gnerate a good traffic flow? or should i make my hub then write in article directories pointing to my hub?
Nice to read an honest guide about clickbank together with using Hubpages-excellent, nice and easy to read and understand. voted-up
Thanks traceye, I didn't think about promoting Clickbank products on Hubpages! Thanks for connecting the dots for me. :D
Guys there is better way than writing articles for backlinks. On Infocera you can create simple note related to topic of your product and get backlinks....its simply and easy....
I had no idea you can promote clickbank product on hubpage. I will definitely implement your guide. Thanks.
You can't add affiliate links here
Actually, Clickbank links are no longer allowed on Hubpages. I got this email on May 9: "...The following published Hub [http://hubpages.com/hub/Insomnia-Symptoms-Causes-R] includes links to affiliate or commerce sites which are prohibited under the updated HubPages rules. The most common cause of this is the use of the Clickbank affiliate program. Please review these Hubs and remove any violating links; uncorrected Hubs will begin to be unpublished starting in about 2 weeks."
The hub is not spammy and has multiple links, all to hubs within Hubpages but it also had one Clickbank link that I was forced to remove per Hubpages. So things have changed with regard to Clickbank links on Hubpages, thanks to the Google Farmer update.
So, are Clickbank hoplinks allowed on Hupages now? I'm not sure...
It seems that they don't like links going to any website that has links to Clickbank products either. Several of my hubs have received violation notices lately because of 'bad' links. I have asked for clarification because, as things stand, I can't see any point in writing good hubs that are not allowed to link to my affiliate website.
Many a Hub,not just for Clickbank of course, I've had to reconstruct due to the change. I'm yet grateful for this free Web 2.0 platform. Thank you, Nikki D. Felder
Thank you, very useful information, glad I found you, I've been with Click bank for a little while, but haven't made a bean so far, keep us posted about the new HP changes
can i publish hub that have link to my blogspot blog which have link to clickbank?
Great hub! what are other websites similar to clickbank.
This has been hub #4 in the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Hub Challenge.
